Kane will now start his mandatory five-day isolation period. In his absence, senior opening batsman Tom Latham will captain the New Zealand team in the second Test against England starting from Friday.

Already New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme has been ruled out of the second Test against England with an injured heel.
