Jasprit Bumrah ENG vs IND: In a massive breaking news development, India’s premier pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is not playing the third and final ODI match against England scheduled to be played at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. It has been an exciting ODI series so far where India won the first match by a comprehensive margin, however, hosts England came back strongly in the second encounter to register a phenomenal 100-run victory. Things are wonderfully set up for the an entertaining decider on the cards as the ENG vs IND three-match ODI series stands at 1-1 scoreline.
ENG vs IND: Why is Jasprit Bumrah Not Playing Today?
After winning his third toss in a row and opting to bowl first, Indian captain Rohit Sharma revealed the big news that their in-form speedster Jasprit Bumrah was not available for selection for this crucial series deciding encounter against England on Sunday. Rohit mentioned that the right-arm pacer was struggling with a niggle before the game and the team management has decided not to risk him. Incidentally, Bumrah bowled magnificently well in the first ODI against England where he registered his best-ever ODI figures of 6 for 19. He also looked in a bit discomfort while bowling in the second ODI game where he took 2 for 49 in his 10 overs.
“We are gonna bowl first. It looks like a good track and won’t change for the course of 100 overs. It is the series decider and we have played some good cricket on the tour, we took the learning from the last game and hopefully will rectify the mistakes. We have bowled well in the limited overs leg, the T20 series as well. Hopefully we can restrict them today to a reasonable target. Bumrah has a niggle and we don’t want to risk him, so Siraj comes in,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
