The competition between bat and ball during the second Test match between England and India at Lord’s cricket ground was at a high level. Both the teams displayed great all-round skills and matched each other blow for blow but in the end, the visitors were a little better than the home team and won the match by 151 runs. Things got even more exciting when players of both nations were engaged in a verbal spat and had a go at each other.

Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj pointed towards head when James Anderson came to bat 

The second Test match will be etched in history as one of the greatest matches. The verbal spat between England and India started when during Day 3, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a brutal over to James Anderson. The English player was then seen exchanging words with the Indian pacer. Things got even worse when on the next day Indian skipper was engaged in banter with Anderson and had some harsh words to say.

When Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami came out to bat in the second innings, England decided to have a go at them with short balls. But it turned out to be a wrong decision as the duo played a vital role with the bat to help India post a fighting total.

Another incident that caught the attention of almost everyone was during England’s second innings. When James Anderson walked out to bat Indian skipper Virat Kohli and pacer Mohammed Siraj, who was bowling at that time, was seen pointing towards the head, indicating that they should welcome Anderson with the short balls.

ENG vs IND: What KL Rahul said regarding the banter with English players? 

KL Rahul, who won the man of the match award for his outstanding century at Lord’s, said that if the hosts were to go after one of the Indians, all eleven would come right back at them.

“That’s what you expect with two competitive teams, you know, you are always going to see great skills, a lot of heart and a few words as well. That only shows how much both teams want to win. We don’t mind a little bit of banter. And, you go after one of our guys, all 11 of us will come right back at them,” KL Rahul said.
