The final day of the second Test match between England and India has been at its exciting best so far. The home side after being on the top of their game on Day 4, got the big wicket of Rishabh Pant in the first hour of the play. However, just when it seemed the Joe Root-led side are asserting their authority, Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah took India to safe shores.

Tempers have started to flare in the ongoing second Test between England and India. While it was James Anderson and Virat Kohli who was engaged in a verbal spat on Day 4, Jasprit Bumrah had a heated conversation with Jos Buttler and Mark Wood.

After Jasprit Bumrah troubled James Anderson with his short ball in England’s innings, Mark Wood avenged that and used a similar relentless short ball ploy against the Indian tail.
During the 93rd over the visitors’ innings, Jasprit Bumrah withstand a blow on his helmet as Wood cranked up the pace and dug one short delivery. The Indian pacer then dispatched the right-arm bowler for four, which had the entire dressing room on the feet, including the skipper Virat Kohli.

ENG vs IND: Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami take India’s lead past 270
After losing Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma early on Day 5, it seemed the home team would restrict India’s lead to around 200 runs. However, Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah brought India back into the game with an unbelievable 89-runs partnership for the ninth wicket to take India’s lead past 270.
While Shami completed his second Test half-century, Jasprit Bumrah remained unbeaten on 34*. The visitors declared their innings on 298/8, setting a target for the Joe Root-led side of 272 runs to go 1-0 up in the five-Test series.
