With India already being without the services of KL Rahul at the top, Shubman Gill will be left with no partner if Rohit misses the last game. As a result of which, BCCI has added Mayank Agarwal in the squad as a standby player.
Agarwal, who was dropped from the India’s squad for the last game against England, is expected to be reach UK by today and will be available immediately as there’s no quarantine in England.
This could be a blessing in disguise for Agarwal as this provides him with the golden opportunity to claim his spot back in the Indian team. He last played for India during Sri Lanka series and since then he has struggled to score runs.
