The important news update coming in is that Australia have dropped their premier fast bowler Scott Boland for the fourth Ashes 2023 Test match against England being played at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. After having won two back-to-back Test matches, the visiting Australian team ended losing the Headingley Test match by a margin of 3 wickets against England. But, Australia still have a lead of 2-1 in the five-match Test series.
ENG vs AUS Ashes 2023: Why is Scott Boland Not Playing England vs Australia 4th Test?
Australia have already named their playing XI for the ENG vs AUS 4th Test Ashes 2023 and right-arm fast bowler Scott Boland has been left out. This seems to be a tactical decision as the visitors have brought back their senior pacer Josh Hazlewood who played the first two games. Boland went wicketless in both the innings of the third Test match against England which looks to be the reason for his omission from the AUS playing 11. On the other hand, Hazlewood has taken as many as 8 wickets from 2 Test matches at an average of 32.50. He has also picked up a total of 6 wickets at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.
Australia will be going ahead with an all-out pace bowling attack in Manchester with the likes of skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green in the team. Also, Australia have not lost a single Ashes Test match at the Emirates Old Trafford in the last 42 years.
