England has announced that left-arm seamer Josh Hull will make his Test debut in the third and final Test of the series against Sri Lanka, starting September 6 at The Oval. Hull, who served as the 12th man in the second Test, will replace fast bowler Matthew Potts in the playing XI.

The 20-year-old Hull has played 10 first-class matches, taking 16 wickets at an average of 62.75. Despite these modest statistics, the 6-foot-7 bowler has shown significant promise early in his professional career. This potential has earned him a call-up to the England Test squad, and he is now set to receive his first Test cap.
Hull has previous experience against Sri Lanka, having represented the England Lions earlier this year against a full-strength Sri Lankan batting line-up. In that match, he took an impressive 5 for 74 across two innings, showcasing his potential against quality opposition.
With the series already won 2-0, England aims to complete a clean sweep and extend their winning streak to seven consecutive home Test victories at The Oval. England’s lineup sees only one change, with Hull coming in for Matthew Potts. The team remains confident as they prepare for the final match of the series.
