South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has given tips to Australia to prevent Indian captain Virat Kohli from scoring runs. He has advised the Aussies not to confront Virat and instead offer him a silent treatment.

Feels like Kohli wants to get into a fight: Du Plessis

The South African cricketer noted that there are guys like Kohli in international cricket who enjoy the confrontation. He revealed that when they play against someone like Virat Kohli, they feel like the India batsman wants to get into the fight.

He explained that there is one or two guys in each team around the world that they as a team discuss before playing against them. According to Faf, they are like, ‘better not say too much to him because you’ll get him going’.

Du Plessis reveals SA’s plans against Kohli in previous series

Team India toured South Africa earlier this year and lost three match Test series 2-1. However Virat impressed everyone with his batting in the series.

Speaking about South Africa’s strategy against Virat in that tour, Faf du Plessis said that Kohli is an amazing player. He revealed that his team gave Kohli the silent treatment and he still scored runs in South Africa, but according to the Proteas captain it was not huge runs — he scored the one hundred there in Centurion when the wicket was slow.

At the same time, the right-hand batsman made it clear that every team will have what they think works and for them and that was silent treatment against the Indian captain.
