Devon Conway Double Hundred: Before the all-important World Test Championship Final against India, New Zealand are currently playing first of the two Test matches against England at Lord’s. The visiting New Zealand team gained the upper hand over the hosts on Day 1 as Devon Conway composed a record maiden century on Test debut to dominate the proceedings. He became the only second non-England player after Sourav Ganguly to score a century on debut at Lord’s.

The England bowlers came back superbly during the opening session on Day 2 of the first Test match by picking quick wickets in regular intervals, however, on the other end, Devon Conway continued to showcase his talent and fabulous stroke-play on a dream debut. The stylish left-hander reached his maiden double hundred with a spectacular six off a short ball from mark Wood on the final delivery of the 122nd over. Conway became the only second New Zealander to score a double ton on Test debut and sixth batsman in world cricket.

1st Test ENG vs NZ Live

Devon Conway’s brilliant record-breaking knock of 200 runs that included 22 fours and 1 six came to an end with an unfortunate run-out dismissal as New Zealand got bowled out for 378 runs in the first innings on Day 2 of the first Test match at Lord’s.

Conway broke down a plethora of records during his smashing maiden double ton. After the England bowlers fightback with quick wickets, Conway got some much needed support from pacer Neil Wagner as the duo added a crucial tally of 40 runs for the 10th wicket partnership.

Henry Nicholls also contributed with a brilliant knock of 61 runs alongwith a staggering partnership of 174 runs with Conway for the fourth wicket. For England, Ollie Robinson picked up four wickets on debut while Mark Wood and James Anderson scalped three and two wickets respectively.
