Youngster Shardul Thakur earned Test cap in the second Test against Windies in Hyderabad. He bowled ten deliveries on the first day of his debut, but it seems like his groin injury of the right region from Asia Cup started to haunt him once again.
Link with the previous injury
During his span in Asia Cup, Dubai, Shardul complained about groin soreness against Hong Kong. He bowled for four overs and took no wicket due to his discomfort at the field.
Shardul was called to bowl in the fourth over of the innings where he successfully did three deliveries, but on the fourth one, he found some strain at the right groin area which was a relapse of his injury in Asia Cup. Physio man Patrick Farhart was asked to come on the field. After a lengthy discussion, Shardul was taken out of the ground for further medication process. Ashwin bowled the remaining two deliveries of his over. Thakur’s injury would be detailed after an assessment.
