DC vs SRH IPL 2021: The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Phase 2 being held in the UAE suffered yet another COVID outbreak as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer T Natarajan has tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the game against Delhi Capitals (DC). As many as six members from the SRH contingent have been identified as the close contacts, however, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the DC vs SRH will go on as per scheduled.

3 Players Who can Replace T Natarajan in Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing 11

T Natarajan was almost certain to be part of the SRH playing 11 in the today IPL 2021 match against Delhi Capitals. However, he is now under isolation and the Sunrisers Hyderabad will now have to make some important changes in their side for their first match in IPL 2021 Phase 2.

1. Khaleel Ahmed

The Sunrisers Hyderabad included Khaleel Ahmed in the side after Natarajan was injured in the first half of the tournament. The left-arm pacer played a total of five matches picking up four wickets at an economy of 8.20. In his overall IPL career, he has taken 31 wickets from 22 matches at an economy of 8.75. Therefore, SRH could once again look at Khaleel Ahmed as a like-for-like replacement for Natarajan.

2. Siddarth Kaul

Right-arm pacer Siddarth Kaul has played just 4 matches in the last two years of the Indian Premier League. He played as many as three games in the India leg of the IPL 2021 season for the Sunrisers Hyderabad but failed to deliver with the ball in pressure situation finishing with 3 wickets to his name. However, after a brilliant domestic season for Punjab, he could be given a longer rope in the IPL 2021 phase 2. In 49 IPL matches, Kaul has picked up 54 wickets at an economy of 8.59.

3. Basil Thampi

Sunrisers Hyderabad could also pick Basil Thampi as he can trouble the batsmen with his extra yards of pace especially in the UAE conditions. Thampi won the Emerging Player of the Tournament award in his debut season for the now-defunked Gujrat Lions as he picked up 11 wickets. In 20 games, he has scalped 17 wickets and could be a vital inclusion for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH will also have to look for a replacement for Vijay Shankar in the playing XI as he is currently under isolation after being identified as the close contact of COVID positive Natarajan. Abhishek Sharma is likely to come in for Vijay Shankar.
