Losing too many wickets in the business end of the chase and committing suicide at the verge of a win has been a feature of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019. But tonight, the hunter turned into hunted as it was Delhi who snatched a win from the jaws of their opponents. Hyderabad lost eight wickets in fifteen runs as Delhi defended a modest total of 155 runs.
Bairstow, Warner give Hyderabad confident start
Chasing 156 runs, Hyderabad’s dynamic duo, Warner and Bairstow gave the team a sensational start by scoring 72 runs for the first wicket. However the demise of Bairstow (41 off 31 balls) in the 10th over and Kane Williamson’s quick departure in the 12th over pushed SRH back.

And the ploy of promoting Ricky Bhui failed as he crumbled under pressure and ate too many dot balls. Meanwhile uncharacteristically Warner too struggled to find quick runs from the other end and suddenly Hyderabad was in a spot of bother with 56 needed of 30 balls.
Hyderabad’s Self-immolation in death overs
The first casualty came in the form of Bhui (7 off 12 balls) who gave a catch to Axar Patel in an attempt play an ugly hoick against Kemo Paul in the 16th over. But it was Kagiso Rabada who delivered the decisive punch in the 17th over.

Warner (51 off 47 balls), looking to break the shackles went aerial but was caught by Shreyas Iyer and on the very next ball, another senseless slog saw the end of Vijay Shankar.
Chris Morris then stepped up and sent back Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan and Abhishek Sharma in the same over. And Rabada removed the remaining two wickets in the 19th over to complete what will be remembered as a sensational batting collapse from SRH as eight wickets fell in 22 balls.
