Things did not worked out in an ideal manner for the Delhi Capitals recently in the 16th edition of the IPL as they suffered a poor 27-run defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in their last game. Delhi Capitals are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table with just 4 wins and as many as 7 losses in IPL 2023.

Unfortunately, Anrich Nortje will not be included in the DC playing XI for today’s DC vs PBKS match. Following some family emergency, the fast bowler had to travel back to South Africa after the game against Gujarat Titans earlier this season and since then, he is not available for selection. The Delhi Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson has already stated that the South African pacer is likely to be back for the last few games of this ongoing T20 tournament. However, his absence is a big setback for the Delhi Capitals as Nortje was one of their mainstay pace bowlers having picked up a total of 7 wickets from 8 matches at an economy rate of less than 9.

“We will have a bowl. It is going to be a slow, low surface, it is not going to change much. There might be some dew later on. The last game was not a good one but winning 4 out of 5 was quite good. The boys have come out with a lot of freedom and a clear mind. The crowd has come out and supported us. We have got the same 16, Ripal goes out and another pacer comes in,” said Delhi Capitals captain David Warner during the toss.
