DC vs LSG, Match 3 of IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals Player Availability & Probable Playing XI

A Delhi Capitals outfit without their skipper Rishabh Pant is all set for their tournament opener against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium on April 1. David Warner will be handling DC troops in the absence of regular skipper Rishabh Pant and it would be interesting to see if DC would prosper under Warner’s captaincy after a disappointing season in 2022.

DC vs LSG Team News: No South Africa Players

After a horrific road accident last year in December, Rishabh Pant was sidelined for this year’s IPL. Rishabh Pant’s absence will be a big jolt for Delhi Capitals as his batting abilities more than his captaincy will be missed. As far as wicket-keeping is concerned, Delhi has a full-fledged wicket-keeper in England’s Phil Salt and they also have an option of Sarfaraz Khan.

South African pace duo of Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi will also miss at least the opening match for the side. Nortje and Ngidi will be playing in the ODI series against the Netherlands which will get over on April 2.

Another South African batter Rilee Rossouw will be available right from the first game as he is not included in SA’s ODI squad.

There are cloud of doubts over the availability of Mustafizur Rahman as the Bangladesh pacer will be playing a T20I on 31st March against Ireland and can be available after the mentioned date.

The bowling unit will comprise one between Mukesh Kumar or Lalit Yadav along with the likes of Axar Patel, Chetan Sakariya, and Khaleel Ahmed.
