The big news update coming from the Delhi Capitals (DC) camp is that they have dropped their left-arm overseas pacer Mustafizur Rahman for their sixth match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Delhi Capitals have failed to kickstart their IPL 2023 journey on a very good note as they are yet to win a single match and have suffered back-to-back losses against Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
DC vs KKR: Why is Mustafizur Rahman Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match?
During the toss, Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner revealed that left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman is not part of the DC playing 11 for this DC vs KKR IPL 2023 match on Thursday. This seems to be a tactical change as the Delhi Capitals are playing senior Indian pacer Ishant Sharma and overseas wicket-keeper batsman Phil Salt in the side. Mustafizur has failed to contribute much with the ball during the last two matches where he picked up just a single wicket and was also really expensive. Therefore, the Delhi Capitals have went ahead with Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma as their frontline fast bowlers.
“We will have a bowl first. Weather being around, you don’t know what the total is going to be. We haven’t been disciplined with the ball. We have two changes,” said Delhi Capitals captain David Warner during the toss.
