In an important news update, the Gujarat Titans (GT) have named their eleven against Delhi Capitals without all-rounder Vijay Shankar. Shankar bats in the middle order and is a handy seam bowler. He played GT’s opening game against Chennai Super Kings on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and scored a crucial 27 off 21 deliveries batting at no 5.
DC vs GT: Why is Vijay Shankar Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match?
Gujarat Titans have decided to opt for Sai Sudharsan instead of Vijay Shankar in the playing 11. Sudharshan is someone who provide stability batting at no 3. With Williamson having been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to a knee injury, Gujarat will most likely give Sai Sudharsan ample chances to bat at no 3.
Shankar, however, is included in the Impact Player’s list and we might see him getting into the eleven in the second innings as an impact player replacing someone like Yash Dayal. However, it is not a surety if Shankar will get into the eleven in the second innings.
