Windies great and former captain Darren Sammy who led the Caribbean team to two ICC World cup titles will help to promote the ICC Women’s World Cup T20, 2018. He joined the Cricket West Indies as an ambassador to lend his support to the Women’s World Cup. He would help to promote the event under the boundaries of the Caribbean nation as the event is set to host by West-Indies starting from 9 November- 24 November.
Sammy is St Lucia’s most prolific player, and he is popular enough to handle the promotion section. Sammy himself confirmed his joining with the Women’s World Cup as an ambassador. He expressed his feeling by saying.
“It’s an honour to join the team for the upcoming ICC Women’s World T20. This is going to be a great event for our region and for our women team, who have helped the generations to build our communities here in St Lucia, West Indies. In doing so, they gave a marvellous contribution to our cricket.”
Sammy gave his regards to the Windies Team and said we would welcome the nine nations to our soil but my heart belongs to Windies team and I’ll wish them all the best to defend their title.
The world campaign will be promoted on social media with #WatchThis, and Sammy will provide his dates to the several public activities and appearance. He has to be available for the photo sessions and meet and greet of the fans on the venue as an ambassador and Sammy is a perfect person to play this job role in the Caribbean.
According to the itinerary of the event, Women’s World Cup will start from 9 November -24 November. It will have 23 mouth-watering clashes at the three ravishing stadiums. Darren Sammy’s International Stadium is also a venue for the World Cup.
