The Chennai Super Kings’ most recent IPL 2023 game against Lucknow Super Giants ended in a washout due to persistent rain. However, CSK are currently placed at the third spot on the points table with as many as 5 victories and 4 losses.

During the toss, it was revealed that Ambati Rayudu is not part of the starting CSK playing XI for today’s CSK vs MI match. Interestingly, the senior Indian batsman is once again part of the five substitutes out of which one can be used as an Impact Player at any moment in the match. However, Rayudu has not been in the best of forms so far for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023 having notched up just 83 runs from 9 matches at a strike-rate of over 136. He is still expected to come out as an Impact Player for CSK in the second innings of this match against Mumbai Indians.

“We’ll bowl first. A bit of rain expected, that’s one reason, looks like a good wicket and we want them to set a target for us. Every individual has worked well, everyone can show some attention on the field, we’ve improved every game, there have been some slip ups, but we need to finish well. We’re playing with the same squad,” said Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni during the toss.
