According to Accuweather, there is a 55% chance of precipitation during the match time in Chennai, with a 33% probability of a thunderstorm in the afternoon. In the evening, the chances of a thunderstorm drop to 19%, but the possibility of rain increases to 64% due to total cloud cover.

“We’ll bowl first. A bit of rain expected, that’s one reason, looks like a good wicket and we want them to set a target for us. Every individual has worked well, everyone can show some attention on the field, we’ve improved every game, there have been some slip ups, but we need to finish well. We’re playing with the same squad,” said Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni during the toss.
