CSK vs KKR: The judgement day is finally here as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 kickstarts with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 26 March. Incidentally, both these teams also played the finals of IPL 2021 season where Chennai Super Kings won their fourth title. However, this year both the teams have a new captain as Shreyas Iyer will be leading KKR while Ravindra Jadeja will captain CSK for the first time.
CSK vs KKR: Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar to MISS Match 1 of IPL 2022?
In a massive blow ahead of the IPL 2022 opener, the duo of Moeen Ali and Deepak Chahar will not be available for the game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. After some delay in VISA issues, Moeen is yet to complete his mandatory quarantine and join the CSK camp. On the other hand, Chahar who was bought by Chennai Super Kings for a hefty amount of INR 14 Crore during the IPL 2022 mega auction, however, he is now struggling with a quadriceps injury and will miss the first few games.
In the absence of Moeen and Chahar, the four-time IPL champions are likely to play both of their overseas pacers namely Adam Milne and Chris Jordan in the playing 11 for the first game. Milne, Jordan, Devon Conway and Dwayne Bravo will be the first-choice overseas players for Chennai Super Kings.

CSK have defeated KKR a total of 18 times so far in this exciting head-to-head rivalry. The Kolkata-based IPL franchise has emerged victorious on 8 occasions while one of the game ended without a result.
