The Delhi Capitals (DC) have dropped pace bowler Mukesh Kumar for their 11th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Things have panned out in ideal manner for the Delhi Capitals recently in the ongoing 16th edition of the IPL as they have managed to win 4 out of their last 5 matches and they have the winning momentum in the business end of IPL 2023.
CSK vs DC IPL 2023: Why is Mukesh Kumar Not Playing Today’s IPL Match?
During the toss, it was mentioned that Mukesh Kumar is not included in the starting DC playing XI for today’s CSK vs DC match. Interestingly, he is part of the substitute members list but is unlikely to be drafted as the Impact Player because the Delhi Capitals are already bowling first. In the previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mukesh was quite expensive as he took a single wicket and gave away a total of 30 runs in his three overs. The right-arm pacer has taken 6 wickets from 8 matches this year for the Delhi Capitals at an expensive economy rate of nearly 11.
“Looks a little bit dry. The boys have come out with the right attidtude. We had to work on our powerplay batting. Try and excute on this wicket as much as you can. Lalit comes in for Manish Pandey,” said Delhi Capitals captain David Warner during the toss.

Mukesh Kumar IPL 2023 Price
Mukesh Kumar, a 29-year-old bowler from West Bengal, became Delhi Capitals’ most expensive player after being acquired for INR 5.5 crore in the 2023 IPL auctions. Originally from Kakarkund village in Gopalganj, Bihar, Kumar made it to the Bengal cricket team after impressing at the Vision 2020 trials in 2014, overseen by former Indian pace bowler, Ranade Bose. His IPL selection highlights the potential that regional talent can bring to the national stage, and Kumar’s rise to fame is a testament to this.
