Kieron Pollard’s one of those cheeky acts
TKR were asked to bat by Faf du Plessis, the captain of Saint Lucia Kings after winning the coin toss in the 9th game of CPL 2021. TKR were off to a slow start as SLK didn’t allow TKR batsmen to score freely. Sunil Narine who is known for explosive starts at the top of the order managed to score 24 off 32 balls which was very unlike Sunil Narine.
Rajasthan Royals’ Liam Livingstone doubt for UAE leg after suffering a shoulder injury
The sustained short pitch bowling by Alzarri Joseph and Kesrick Williams didn’t allow Sunil Narine to get off the hook. TKR were in a spot of bother but that’s when their skipper Kieron Pollard and the Kiwi batter Tim Seifert joined hands to stitch a match winning partnership of 78 off 44 balls.
In the penultimate over of TKR’s innings, Wahab Riaz fired in a wide yorker to Tim Seifert which was well past the wide line but it wasn’t judged wide by the umpire which didn’t go well with the non-striker Kieron Pollard. He was clearly disappointed with the call and decided to walk away to mid-wicket region which made everyone to take notice of it. He later came back to his usual position.
