Cheteshwar Pujara recalls the most EMOTIONAL Moment in his Career

Cheteshwar Pujara emotional moment: Cheteshwar Pujara is currently India’s most dependent batsman in the longest format of the game. Pujara’s resolute batting prowess and sensational toughness in his approach played a pivotal role in leading India to historic back-to-back Test series wins in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21. The right-hander notched up a total of 521 runs during India’s first-ever Test series win down under in 2018-19 where he also finished as the leading run-getter in the four Test matches and Pujara also scored 271 runs in the historic 2-1 series win Down Under in 2020-21.
Cheteshwar Pujara Emotional Moment
The journey from playing domestic cricket for Saurashtra to showing his grit and patience at the international level for India over the years, it hasn’t been easy at all for Pujara. During a recent interview, India’s current Test number three opened on the most emotional moment of his cricketing career. Pujara stated that he was really upset and even started crying when he came to know about his first major injury in his career.
“When I had my first injury, to come back from it was the toughest time of my cricketing career. The moment our team physio came to and spoke to me that the recovery will be about six months. So, I was so upset, I started crying. I was in a negative mindset at that time. ‘Will I be able to play this game again? Will I be able to play at the international level again?” Cheteshwar Pujara said in a YouTube interview on Mind Matters.

“There was a time when I felt I cannot handle the pressure,” recalls Cheteshwar Pujara
Cheteshwar Pujara further mentioned that talking to his family and closed ones helped him a lot in recovering from those tough times. The 33-year-old batsman reckoned that at one moment he even realised that he cannot handle the pressure which is where his mother supported him a lot. Pujara also noted that doing meditation and yoga helped him remain in a positive mindset.
“So, slowly I started talking to my family members, my father, my friends and they started giving me positive feedback that you will come out of this, don’t worry about it. So, I stopped worrying about my future and started focusing on my present,” he added.

“There was a time when I felt I cannot handle the pressure. When I had issues in my younger days, I used to go to my mother and cried in front of her saying that I had a lot of pressure and nervousness and I don’t to want play cricket. But now I know how to handle the pressure,” Pujara concluded.
