The Rajasthan Royals newly appointed captain Sanju Samson has won a crucial toss and has opted to bat first on a belter of a Wankhede track. At the IPL 2021 auction, Rajasthan Royals made a surprising pick in the form of Chetan Sakariya at the price of INR 1.2 crore. It was quite fascinating to witness that a young prospect like Chetan who had a base price of worth INR 20 lakh actually fetched 1.2 crore at the auction. In 16 T20s, the left-arm pacer has picked up 28 wickets at an economy of 7.08.
Chetan Sakariya RR
It is a huge opportunity for Chetan to play in the IPL as he does not comes from a well-privileged background. During his teenage years, Chetan’s father was an auto driver and he wanted his son to focus on his studies but he was quite passionate for cricket and that is where the cricketing journey started. Sakariya idolizes former Indian legendary pacer Zaheer Khan. He also got to improve and learn a lot of new things about pace bowling during his stint at the MRF Pace Foundation.
