Rohit Sharma Awards: Rohit Sharma is a household name in World cricket. The talismanic right-hander who loves to take on the bowlers and dominate them, is one of India’s most successful batters. Rohit started his white ball career in 2007 against Ireland in ODIs and against England in Kingsmead, Durban. His Test match debut took a long time but finally in 2013, he made his Test debut against West Indies at the Eden Gardens and scored a ton on his debut.
From his debut till 2013, Rohit wasn’t a designated opener of the Indian team. He used to open the innings sporadically in T20Is and ODIs but wasn’t a frontrunner for the spot. However, his fortunes changed in 2013 when he was asked to open by MS Dhoni during the 2013 Champions Trophy, and since that the right-hander never looked back.
