With the nation in lock-down, the masses are within their homes in order to protect themselves from the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, it’s been a hard few days for one and all. One of the athletes who has expressed his boredom and feelings ever so frequently on social media is India’s wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Chahal missing the good old days
In a recent post shared by Chahal, one could see the young leggie embracing MS Dhoni, while Virat Kohli walked in front. By the looks it was quite evident that Chahal is not only missing cricketing action but his fellow comrades as well.

Had there been no pandemic at all, Yuzvendra Chahal , MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and the rest would have been busy in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The start studded tournament was originally scheduled for March 29, 2020. But due to the outbreak, the BCCI took the decision of postponing it to April 14. However, things haven’t improved significantly because of which Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced that the lock-down will be extended till May 3 until further notice.
IPL pushed back indefinitely
As a result of that the BCCI officials and the franchise owners had to come to terms that the IPL will be suspended indefinitely. There Is a growing speculation the IPL could take place during the September-October period. But if that does happen, it could end up tampering with the remainder of the cricketing schedules which also includes the all important ICC T20 World Cup that is to be held on October in Australia.
But all the possibilities remain far-fetched as of now, since the primary target is for the nation to come through this troublesome scenario. Plenty of Indian cricketers including the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have contributed by chipping in to the Prime Minster Reliefs Fund. The BCCI also came to the aid lately by putting in Rs 51 Crores.
