BREAKING: PCB decides to postpone PSL 6 indefinitely

PSL Postponed: In a massive setback, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to postpone the ongoing sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) indefinitely amidst several COVID-19 cases reported in the past week. Firstly, Islamabad United’s leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed tested positive for the deadly Corona virus which created a big stir in the camp and the game between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators was forced to move it to the following day. It has been tough time for the PSL authorities dealing with the massive blow after some more names being reportedly added to the list of COVID-19 cases.

PSL 6: Tom Banton tests positive for COVID-19
England cricketer Tom Banton who is playing for the Quetta Gladiators is one of the recent three names that have tested positive for the vastly spread virus. The Karachi Kings also confirmed that one of those three cases is their fielding coach Kamran Khan. After a meeting with the team owners and considering the health of the players, the PCB has decided to postpone the ongoing PSL edition with immediate effect.
As an immediate step, the PCB will shift their focus on initiating a safe and secure passage for all the participant and arrange repeated PCR tests, vaccines and isolation facilities for the six teams. It has also been understood that the PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan and Director- Commercial Babar Hamid will hold a media conference at the National Stadium later in the day to provide the further updates.

PSL 6 in numbers so far
A total of 14 matches have already taken place in the sixth edition of the PSL. With 3 wins and 2 losses, Karachi Kings are at the top position on the points table due to their net run-rate being superior to Peshawar Zalmi who are placed second on the list. Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan is the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 297 runs in 5 games at an impressive average of 59.40. Saqib Mahmood is the highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets to his name from 5 matches.
