As per independent.co.uk, Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League with a sense of broken hand injury, which he sustained, while taking the catch of Chris Gayle. He felt the injury just after the catch and his scans are underway, the results of it will be out soon, as per sources. The England cricket board’s medical team has started the discussion with the Rajasthan Royals, about the further process, as they can’t risk the recovery of Stokes. His extent of damage should be known by the ECB to give him proper treatment due to his influence in the England team across all the formats.

Ben Stokes ruled out of IPL 2021
The all-rounder sustained the injury during the 10th over of the Punjab Kings innings. While taking a catch to dismiss off Riyan Parag’s bowling, he did not celebrate enough as he immediately felt the pain in his hand. After taking a catch, he was seen taking the treatment off-field in the duggout.
Though, Ben did not bowl after that, but continued in the game and fielded well. He came in as the opener of the team and soon perished for a duck in the 1st over of the innings off Mohammad Shami’s bowling.

The England fast bowler had undergone surgery to remove a glass fragment from his hand. Before coming to India to play the test series, he injured himself when he was cleaning a fish tank. Along with that, he had an elbow injury as well. Due to this elbow scare, he was regularly taking injections.
Now the surgery has been successful, the fast bowler has resumed his training on Tuesday. He is said to have been working closely with Sussex team medical staff. He can make his comeback into the IPL in the first half of the IPL 2021.
