It seems that nothing is going right for Bangladesh at the moment. The visitors were trashed in the first two ODIs and have already lost the ODI series. Now middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun who is in good form has been ruled out of the third ODI due to an hamstring injury while there are doubts over availability of senior batsman Mushfiqur Rahim.
Mithun ruled out, BAN hopeful about Rahim
Mithun had injured himself while completing a run during the second ODI against New Zealand. Bangladesh team manager, Khaled Masud gave an update on Mithun’s injury and stated that Mithun’s recovery will take 10-12 days and he will miss the last ODI. But at the same time he said that they are hopeful that he will be fit before the first Test.
Mithun has been the stand-out player for Bangladesh in this series. The right-hand batsman has scored two half-centuries in two games in this series so far and has looked at home while facing the New Zealand bowlers.
Decision on Rahim to be made before the match
On the other hand, Mushfiqur Rahim’s rib-cage injury has resurfaced but the team management feels that he will be available for the third game.
