Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s grim prediction about the upcoming Australian tour

The grim prediction

28-year old Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is of the opinion that the upcoming tour Australia will not be easy, despite the absence of Australia’s star batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith. Kumar stated that no overseas series is ever easy and this series will be tough for bowlers because there is hardly any movement, nowadays.

Australia’s star batsmen are not playing due to the ban imposed on them for a year as they were caught tampering with the ball during Australia’s previous tour of South Africa.

The situation right now

When asked about how their absence will alter the situation for India, Kumar said that the two have played well over the last few years but there will be other batsmen in the team who will make up for their absence. Australia certainly has the advantage of playing at home.

Kumar stated that as always, it will be a challenge playing against Australia. Had it been easy, they would have won all matches played against them, but that hasn’t been the case. He also said the practice matches in Australia will be crucial for India’s performance.

The tour will consist of 4 Test matches which will begin on December 6th at Adelaide.

Bhuvneshwar at the moment

Bhuvneshwar was rested against the West Indies in the first two ODIs. He was completely in support of the rotation policy of the team management. He said that breaks are important as some players can rest while others get a chance to play. After a long series, he said, breaks are crucial for the mind and body to recover.

Kumar spoke to reporters while he was in Mumbai for promotions of ASICS, as he is now associated with the brand. He has played 92 ODIs and 21 Tests so far.
