BCCI rewards national selectors: Awards bonus of 20 lakhs

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rewarded the national selectors for India’s historic win in the Australia series. BCCI has awarded every member of the selection panel INR 20 lakhs each.
Selectors played a crucial role: Vinod Rai
The panel of national selectors include five members and they will receive INR 20 lakhs each as a bonus from BCCI.
Vinod Rai, the chairman of the BCCI Committee of Administrators (CoA) said in a press release that the five men have played a crucial role in picking a balanced Indian squad and offering the team management enough options to work around different combinations.
He noted that the boys chosen to represent the Indian team went about their task in a fearless manner and stood up in challenging situations.

Diana Edulji, a member of CoA was full of praise for the selectors. She said that each member who has played a role in India’s recent triumphs in Australia needs to be appreciated.
She feels that with the ICC Cricket World Cup just about four months away, the three-match ODI series in Australia provided excellent preparation for the Indian team. The selectors have been focusing on a core group of cricketers that will make the cut at the showpiece event.

She said that she congratulates them for picking some fine young talents, who performed brilliantly on their maiden tour of Australia.
India’s historic win in Australia
The Indian team led by Virat Kohli scripted history in the recent tour of Australia. Team India won the Test series 2-1 and also clinched the ODI series 2-1. India also drew the T20I series 1-1.
BCCI had earlier announced cash prizes for the players and the support staff and has now rewarded the selectors as well.
