BCCI president Sourav Ganguly in home quarantine after elder brother tests Covid-19 positive

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly on Thursday has imposed himself into home quarantine after news about his elder brother affected by the Corona Virus came out.

Sourav Ganguly resides in his ancestral home in Behela area of Kolkata. His elder brother had shifted to that home recently following the news of his wife and in-laws affected with the virus. On Wednesday Mr. Snehashish Ganguly the elder brother of Sourav Ganguly got the results of his Covid-19 test which came out to be positive. This meant that the former India captain and present BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has to be in home quarantine and will have to take up his own Corona Virus test even if he is showing no symptoms of the same.

Mr. Snehashish Ganguly is the joint secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal. He was also a former Cricketer himself although not as successful as his younger brother, he has represented Bengal state in first class matches.
“He was suffering from fever for the last few days and his test report came positive today. He’s been admitted to Belle Vue Hospital” a CAB official gave statement to the PTI.
The reports arrived late in the evening. “As per health protocols, even Sourav Ganguly will have to be in home quarantine for a stipulated period,” a source close to the BCCI President added.
Sourav Ganguly, wife and children are expected to undergo the Corona Virus test in a private hospital in Kolkata, the results of which will be made available to public as per the person’s wish.
The former batsman was unavailable to reach out after yesterday’s developments and did not give a comment on the matter however, there’s a recent interview to news channel India today that is available. Sourav Ganguly has spoken about how his whole life around him has changed due to the virus. “My brother visits our factories everyday and he is more at risk”- he was quoted saying.
