Bat slip-out during Pant’s batting
In haste to chase the total, DC’s young skipper Rishabh Pant attempted a lofted shot intending to hit the boundary and inch closer to the target. However, the poorly attempted shot didn’t just cost him his wicket but mockingly saw willow slipping out of Pant’s hands. Pant’s wicket fell when DC needed 20 runs off 22 balls, soon after which Shimron Hetmyer took to the crease and fiercely smashed the last runs to get DC their win.
When did the incident happen?
The instance happened during the 17th over when Punjab’s key pacer Chris Jordan pitched the ball just outside off while Pant was batting at the striker’s end. To wrap things quickly, Pant smashed hard trying to clear the rope but ended up getting caught by PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal at extra cover. The sturdy batsman had to depart after scoring just 14 runs.
