Problems for the Bangladesh camp have intensified as another star player is in doubt for their opening ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 fixture against South Africa.
Tamim Iqbal has added on to the list of injuries of Bangladesh players ahead of Sunday’s opening World Cup fixture against South Africa at The Oval, after being struck a blow on the left wrist while practising in the nets.

Iqbal suffered an injury during practice on Friday. The player came out of the nets during his batting session with an injury on his left wrist and was immediately rushed to the dressing room along with physio Thian Chandramohan.
Being a left-hander, an injury on the same hand is a huge blow for the cricketer. Iqbal also missed the warm-up game against India due to pain on his thigh muscle.
As per reports, a precautionary x-ray was taken where there was no sign of a fracture. There will further be tests tomorrow which will assess the availability of the player to play the opening game of the World Cup.
Bangladesh vs South Africa: BAN squad ailing with injuries
Their ace all-rounder Shakib recovered from a side strain recently. Mustafizur Rahman is suffering from a calf injury while opener Tamim Iqbal, 30 who will be playing his fourth World Cup could not play the practice match due to a minor thigh strain but is expected to join the squad when they play against South Africa.
The loss of Tamim would be disastrous for team Bangladesh as he has been the establishing unit of the team since the 2007 World Cup. He has also had a phenomenal form in all formats in the recent series.
