Bangladesh is all set to host India for ODI and Test series. The tour will begin with three-match ODI series that will be played from 4th December in Mirpur whereas two Test matches will be played in Chattogram on 14th December and Mirpur on 22nd December respectively. This will also be the first time since 2015 India will tour Bangladesh.
Taskin Ahmed ruled out of the first ODI against India due to back injury
The first ODI between Bangladesh and India is just a few days away from now. With just three days remaining for the commencement of the first game, the hosts have suffered a massive blow as Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out from the opener.
The pacer will miss the game due to a recurring back-pain. His injury comes as a big blow for Bangladesh as he was in the fine form of late and have been consistently providing his team with breakthroughs.
In his place Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has called Shoriful Islam as a back-up in the ODI squad. It is expected to that the pacer will be drafted into the XI for the first game against India on 4th December.
BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin confirmed the development and said to Cricbuzz: “Taskin is ruled out from the opening game of the ODIs as his back pain recurred. We wil be seeing his progress before taking further decision regarding his participation.
Tamin Iqbal’s availability for the first ODI against India also in jeopardy
Not only Taskin Ahmed, but Bangladesh also are facing injury concerns over the availability of Tamin Iqbal for the first ODI against India. The opening batter suffered groin injury recently in the warmup game. BCB is currently waiting for his scans and after then only the call will be taken on him.
