BAN vs IND: After the ongoing ODI series, both Bangladesh and India will cross swords with each other in the two-match Test series. The two Test matches will be played in Chattogram on 14th December and Mirpur on 22nd December respectively. The Test series will extremely be important for both the series in the context of World Test Championship and both the teams would want to give their best.
BAN vs IND: Rohit Sharma likely to unavailable for the Test series against Bangladesh
The ongoing tour of Bangladesh has seen injury woes yet again haunting Indian contingent. With Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja already being out, as many as four players have suffered injuries during this your so far in Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Sen, Deepak Chahar and Rohit Sharma
However, one of the biggest blow came in when their skipper Rohit Sharma suffered a hand injury in the second ODI against Bangladesh while fielding. He immediately went off the field and went for scans, which revealed that the right-hander has dislocated his left thumb and also few cuts were there too.
Although, he came out to bat later in the innings in second ODI to rescue his team but he has been ruled out of the third ODI as well. Head coach Rahul Dravid mentioned that the skipper will head back to Mumbai and see some expert there.
With Rohit heading back to India raises lot of questions about his availability for the Test series. It is expected that he will miss the Test series because his injury looked serious. However, if he gets green signal by the medical consultant in Mumbai, then he be part of the series.
Head coach Rahul Dravid too was unsure abjure Rohit’s availability for Test series and said: “We are struggling with a few injuries as well. Not ideal. Kudeep, Deepak and Rohit will certainly miss the next game. Rohit will miss the next game, fly back to Bombay, consulting with an expert. Whether he will return for the Test series or not, I am not sure. It’s too early to say.
BAN vs IND: KL Rahul to captain India if Rohit misses Test series against Bangladesh
If Rohit Sharma missed the Test series against Bangladesh, it is likely that KL Rahul will captain the side in two matches. Him being the vice captain will be given the responsibility to lead.
The right-hander also captained the team when Rohit was out in the second ODI. Earlier this year, in the absence of the skipper, he was handed the onus to lead the side in Test series against South Africa.
