The Bangladesh team management has decided to play uncapped opening batsman Shadman Islam in the second Test against Windies and the management has also announced a 13-member squad for the 2nd Test.
Shadman Islam to be rewarded for consistent show in recent times
The injury to Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes has forced Bangladesh team management to try a new face at the top of the batting order.
Islam has featured in 42 first-class games scoring 3023 runs at an average of 47.50. He was roped in the team for the first Test as a cover for Tamim but he didn’t make it to the playing XI.
But now with Kayes also injured, he is set to make his Test debut in the second Test. The opening batsman was impressive in the warm-up game against Windies where he scored 73 runs.

He also revealed that there is no specific update of Tamim’s injury status so the selectors have not included him. But at the same time he cleared that if Tamim is available then they can include him anytime. That is why they had to announce a 13-member squad.
