Australia T20I Squad for AUS vs SL: In a big news development, Cricket Australia (CA) have officially announced the Australia T20I squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home. Australia is scheduled to host Sri Lanka for as many as 5 T20I matches starting from 11 February, 2022 in Sydney. The defending T20 World Cup champions will be missing some of their key players from that winning triumph squad.
AUS vs SL: Australia T20I Squad Announced
Australia have announced a 16-member squad for the five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. In a massive update, the duo of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh who played a really important role in Australia winning their maiden T20 World Cup title last year in the UAE, will miss the T20Is against Sri Lanka in order to prepare for the following tour to Pakistan. Aussie head coach Justin Langer along with some of the other support staff members have also taken a break while Andrew McDonald has been named the Australia head coach for home T20I series against Sri Lanka.
After an impressive show in the recently concluded Ashes, Travis Head and Jhye Richardson have been included in the T20I team while right-arm pacer Josh Hazlewood also makes a return after recovering from injury. On the back of fabulous performances in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League T20, the trio of Ben McDermott, Jos Inglis and Moises Henriques have been named in the T20I side.

Australia vs Sri Lanka Start Date
The first T20I match between Australia and Sri Lanka is scheduled to take place on 11 February at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney and the second game will also be played at the same venue on 13 February, 2022. The Australia vs Sri Lanka 3rd T20I is scheduled on 15 February at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. The final two T20I matches will be contested at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on 18 and 20 February respectively.
