Australia Playing 11 for AUS vs SA 1st Test: In a massive breaking news development, hosts Australia have announced their playing XI for the upcoming first Test match against South Africa starting from 17 December, 2022 at The Gabba in Brisbane. Australia are all set to lock horns with the visiting South African team in a three-match Test series followed by as many as three ODI games. All the three Australia vs South Africa Test matches will be part of the ICC World Test Championship 2022-23 cycle.

Once again on the eve of the first Test match against South Africa, Aussie captain Pat Cummins has confirmed the official playing 11. Cummins himself returns to the side after having missed the second and final Test match against West Indies in Adelaide while right-arm pacer Scott Boland retains his spot as the third frontline pace bowler alongside Pat and Mitchell Starc. Michael Neser unfortunately misses out after having been part of the side during the last Test against the Windies team. Australia will once again play a lone spinner in Nathan Lyon while the trio of Marcus Harris, Lance Morris and Neser will warm the bench during the AUS vs SA 2022 1st Test starting from Saturday.

This will be the first time when both Australia and South Africa will be playing Test cricket against each other since that infamous 2018 series which included the Sandpapergate controversy.
