Australia will be without the services of key all-rounder Glenn Maxwell in their upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 match against England.
Glenn Maxwell Injury update
Glenn Maxwell is not playing as he fell off the back of a golf cart, resulting in the concussion, which has ruled him out of the match.
Cummins provided an update on Maxwell’s condition, mentioning that there’s hope for his return in the upcoming clash against Afghanistan. He stated that Maxwell had been training well and that they were taking his recovery day by day.
Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, expressed his disappointment at missing two crucial players, Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh, for the match against England. Maxwell had been playing a vital role as the team’s second spinner throughout the tournament.
As for Mitchell Marsh, who had to fly back home for personal reasons, Cummins assured that he would return to the squad for the final stages of the tournament. Marsh’s absence is expected to be temporary, and the team is giving him the time and space he needs.
Australia will miss the contributions of these two star players but are prepared to adapt to the challenges posed by injuries and unforeseen circumstances in the ODI World Cup.
So, in the forthcoming match against England, the Australian team will have to make adjustments in their lineup to compensate for the absence of Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh, who have played pivotal roles in the tournament so far.
