India had made the super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022 without much fuss to say the least. They defeated Pakistan rather comfortably in the end although it could have gone either way and brushed aside Hong Kong without dropping a sweat.
Asia Cup 2022: IND to play against PAK
The super 4 stage will see top 2 teams from group A and group B competing against each other in a round robin format and the top 2 teams will play the final on 11th of September.
India will play against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka who have qualified from group A while the winner of the game between Pakistan and Hong Kong will advance to the next stage to join with IND, AFG and SL.
India are set to play their first super 4 game on 4th of September. They will be locking horns with the team that finished 2nd in group A which is most likely to be Pakistan unless Hong Kong defeats Pakistan which is very unlikely.
Pakistan is the 2nd best team in this competition, and probably the 2nd best T20I side in the world along with South Africa. If the stars are aligned, India and Pakistan could potentially end up playing 3 games against each other in this Asia Cup 2022 assuming that India and Pakistan make the final of the tournament.
India and Pakistan don’t play bilaterals anymore and this could well serve as a 3 match T20I series between the two sides.
