Asia Cup 2022: Shaheen Afridi to Virat Kohli “Aapke form ke liye dua kar rahe hai” – WATCH

Asia Cup 2022 is not far away now. The tournament will kick start on Saturday, 28 August. The teams have reached UAE and are leaving no stone unturned in their preparation for the tournament. They have been practising at the ICC’s academy in Dubai and players of teams have also been seen interacting with each other after their net sessions.

Asia Cup 2022: Shaheen Afridi interacts with Virat Kohli 

India and Pakistan are all set to face each other on Sunday (28 August). The Babar Azam-led side ahead of the tournament suffered a major blow as the premier pacer Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury.

The pacer, however, will be with the team as the medical team will monitor him. On Thursday (25th August) as Indian players came after their net session, they interacted with Shaheen, who was sitting on the sidelines with the brace on his knee.

The likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul spared their time and met the left-arm pacer, asking him about his injury and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Shaheen won the hearts of many with his interaction with Indian players.

When he met Kohli, he was seen saying “Aapke liye Duaen kar rahe hai ki waapis form mein aaye (We are praying that you get your form back)”

Asia Cup 2022:  Shaheen’s absence a big miss for Pakistan? 

Shaheen Afridi has been Pakistan’s top performer for the last few years and his absence will leave a massive void for Pakistan as they are all set to clash with arch-rivals India on 28th August.

The last time India faced Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021, he was the main architect behind India not winning that match he rattled the arch-rivals’ top order and was also awarded Player of the Match. Not only against India, but he will be a big miss for his team in the tournament.
