India have suffered another huge blow ahead of the all important Asia Cup. India are in excellent form after back to back series wins in ODIs and T20Is in West Indies and England but Asia Cup will have even more at stakes.
Asia Cup 2022: Jasprit Bumrah ruled out
Just before a week, India had one of the best death bowling pairs in T20Is going around in world cricket in Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel. It is a shame that both these players are ruled out of the Asia Cup within a span of 3 days.
According to PTI, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming multinational tournament, Asia Cup, as the bowler has suffered a back injury. The exact whereabouts of his injury are yet to be known. This will be a huge opportunity for Pakistan, who are 2nd best team in the tournament to win the trophy. It is going to be an extremely difficult task for Rohit Sharma to manage without 2 of his primary bowlers in the 11.
Although, India’s white ball depth is excellent, there is only one Jasprit Bumrah and there are no substitutes for the canny bowler. India’s star batsman KL Rahul who has been out of any cricketing action since the end of the IPL might make his comeback to the Indian team in the Asia Cup but there are high chances that the Karnataka batsman will miss this series as well.
Fastest 100 for India in each format
The Asia Cup would have served as an excellent warm-up for the Indian side to play their full strength side which they would play in the opener of WT20 later this year. India have been experimenting a lot in the recent past, they never played their full strength side even for once in a very long time.
