Anrich Nortje Corona Positive: In a massive breaking news, Delhi Capitals (DC) premier speedster Anrich Nortje has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently under isolation. Nortje is the second player from the Delhi-based franchise to test positive for the deadly virus as earlier their premier all-rounder Axar Patel also contracted to coronavirus ahead of the start of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. The Delhi Capitals registered a comprehensive 7-wicket win against the Chennai Super Kings in their first match of the tournament this year.
Anrich Nortje Covid Positive
Anrich Nortje flew to India along with his South African teammate Kagiso Rabada after playing in the second ODI against Pakistan at home. He was undergoing his mandatory seven-day quarantine and thus, was not available for the Delhi Capitals’ opening match of IPL 2021 against Chennai. And now, the fast bowler has tested positive for coronavirus during his stay at the team hotel in Mumbai.

IPL 2021: Anrich Nortje Corona Positive major setback for Delhi Capitals
This is a massive setback for the Delhi Capitals in this ongoing edition of the IPL as two of their most impactful players, Axar and Nortje will now miss the first few games in IPL 2021. While playing for Delhi in IPL 2020, Nortje delivered an impressive season having taken 22 wickets in 16 matches at an economy of 8.39 and most importantly, he and Kagiso Rabada together proved to be a deadly combination last year. However, the Delhi Capitals have some good back-up pace options in Chris Woakes, Tom Curran, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma. With Nortje and Rabada not available for the first game, DC backed the trio of Woakes, Curran and Avesh Khan who did really well for them against Chennai.
