Former Indian skipper and coach, Anil Kumble believes that spinners will play a crucial role in the upcoming India tour of England.
“We have a great well-balanced side. We have bowlers who can take 20 wickets consistently. Our batting line is experienced as well,” he said in an event.
He also hailed the spinners of Indian squad by calling them the best in the world and added that playing in the second half of summer would also help India.
“We stand a great chance of winning. We have a team in which, on an average, every player has played around 5 Tests. It adds a lot of value to our squad. So, I think we should not have a problem with operating with the white ball.”
He also said that wrist spinners will play an important role during the series.

“Wrist spinners will certainly play an important role England since we are touring in the second half this time. The wrist spinners would come into the game much earlier than the first half of the summer,” he asserted.
When he was asked about the exclusion of Ambati Rayudu from the squad just before the tour after he flunked the Yo-Yo test, he said, “It depends what has been communicated with the player. It is a criterion and part of the process, then it must be respected.”
