Aesha Dhawan recalls her first conversation with Shikhar Dhawan

Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and his wife Aesha Dhawan are one of the most popular couples from Team India as the duo is often spotted on the social media. The story of this couple has always intrigued cricket fans and now Aesha has revealed how the couple meet for the first time.

Aesha says it was all thanks to the social media
Aesha was speaking about her relationship with Shikhar on a television show. When the television host asked her about their first meeting, Aesha quickly responded that it started thanks to Facebook.

Aesha revealed that she was an amateur boxer and was friends on Facebook with some cricketers as she loved this sport. According to Aesha, Shikhar saw her picture in the boxing ring and sent her a friend request. Aesha soon accepted it and within five minutes the opening batsman was having a conversation with her.
The tough journey ahead
However it was not all chalk and cheese for the couple as they faced several obstacles. Initially Shikhar’s family was against this relationship as Aesha is a divorcee and has two daughters. The fact that she is ten years elder to Shikhar was as an issue for the family as well.

But with time, Aesha and Shikhar convinced everyone and tied the knot in 2012. The duo now have a son named Zoravar.
Dhawan in terrific form in Asia Cup
Since his return to international cricket in 2013, Dhawan has been prolific in the shorter format of the game. And he has continued his purple patch in the Asia Cup as well.
He has scored two hundreds in four innings in Asia Cup so far. India will be locking horns against Bangladesh on September 28 in the finals and Shikhar will be India’s key player along with skipper Rohit Sharma in the finals.
