The year 2020 had been filled with grief news. Starting with the bushfires in Australia and with the present spread of coronavirus, the year had it all. To add more sorrow to movie and cricket fans, news has come out that Actor Sushant Singh Rajput who portrayed the former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, in his biopic has committed suicide.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput commits suicide
The promising young actor was found dead in his apartment in Bandra. He was found hanging at his home and a domestic help alerted the police. A team of Bandra Police has rushed to investigate and details are awaited. Stress and depression are cited as the possible reasons for his sudden demise.
The 34-year-old actor was slowly making a name for himself through his movies. Starting from Kai Po Che to Chhichhore his movies always focused on human emotions and the value of relationships. He rose to fame after he played as the protagonist in the biopic based on former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the biopic titled ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ was released in 2016.
His recently released film Chhichhore was aimed to spread the message against suicide and it has come in as a shock that the lead actor of the film chose to suicide.
To add to the confusion regarding his untimely death, his ex-manager, Disha Salian committed suicide by jumping off a building in Mumbai. Disha jumped off the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. She was rushed to a hospital soon where she was declared dead.
When Sushant Singh Rajput became MS Dhoni
Sushant, who was quite an unfamiliar name for the not so die-hard movie fans turned to be a household name after he was chosen to portray former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, in his biopic named MS Dhoni-The untold story. He trained rigorously for the film and showed full justice to the role. He was also seen together with MS Dhoni during the promotion of the film and even chose to travel with him for days to understand the mannerisms of the veteran.
Cricket fraternity shared their grief and condolences
Sushant shared a close bond with the Indian cricket players. He had been a close follower of the game and has shown his presence in various IPL matches. He had come to support Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni in various matches and was seen in the recent edition of the tournament with KXIP owner Priety Zinta in Mohali.
Indian cricket players including the former players and support staff joined the Bollywood and rest of the nation in wishing condolences to his family and friends.
