Hardik has become an integral part of the team off late and he has become almost indispensable to the ODI team. He is one of the players who brings balance to the team as a finisher who can finish the game at the end and as a bowler who can be the 5^th bowler and be important in the middle overs. He has been plagued with injuries and it has impacted his bowling but he is going to be a factor in the coming ICC tournaments once he starts to bowl for the team.

He has shown that he can step up to difficult situations and has a counterattacking mind where he can contribute important runs and important wickets.

This is where he might be considered for the captaincy spot in future. This is a man who could be the dark horse to become the Indian Captain as  he has not captained any IPL team so far in his career.
