Damien Martyn, a former Western Australian cricketer, made batting seem easy. Martyn was an old-school batter who could grind for runs as well as up the ante in ODI cricket. He also had a fantastic 13-month stretch in which he racked up 1608 Test runs at an average of 61. However, he was always under the shadow of superstars like as Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, and Adam Gilchrist.
