3) The Sydney Test -2008
After coming out of the clutches of the Greg Chapple era, Indian cricket was looking upwards as they had won the 2007 T20 world cup. India was under the leadership of MS Dhoni in the ODI arena and Anil Kumble in the test arena.
While on tour to Australia and the series poised delicately with India having lost the first test, the Sydney test saw a comeback of sorts from the Indian team and they looked like they could fight and get back into the series. However, with a few questionable calls by the umpires, things changed for the worse and India ended up losing the game in a close encounter.
Now this sparked a rage as there was widespread anger against Steve Bucknor who was the umpire then. This also escalated with the events of the Harbhajan Singh- Andrew Symonds racism allegations. It spurred India on to bigger and better things as they won the next test match.
